About Us

NAGI is the only national body of Geographers of the country and presently it has more than 2500 life-members. It was established in 1978 with its headquarter in Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. Every year the Association organizes Indian Geography Congress in different universities of India. Apart from Indian Geography Congress, the Association also organized International Geography Congress.

Annals of the National Association of Geographers, India (ISSN: 0970-972X) is a national journal (UGC-CARE Listed) publishes on all matter concerning the study of geography and allied disciplines. The journal provides a medium for wide dissemination of original papers discussing various implications connected with geography from many points of view including international, political, environment, economic, social, medical, managerial, planning, scientific and engineering aspects.

1st Workshop of Asian Young Geographers

Co-organized by the Young Geographers Working Group of the Asian Geographical Association(AGA-YGWG), the IGU Task Force for Young and Early Career Geographers (IGU-YECG) and the GSC Working Committee for Young Geographers, the First Workshop of Asian Young Geographers will be held virtually on December 18th, 2021.

Under the theme "Young Geographers Response to Challenges in Asia", the workshop welcomes broad topics addressing Asia’s challenges of human society and sustainable development.
