NAGI is the only national body of Geographers of the country and presently it has more than 2600 life-members. It was established in 1978 with its headquarter in Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. Every year the Association organizes Indian Geography Congress in different universities of India. Apart from Indian Geography Congress, the Association also organized International Geography Congress.
Annals of the National Association of Geographers, India (ISSN: 0970-972X) is a national journal (UGC-CARE Listed) publishes on all matter concerning the study of geography and allied disciplines. The journal provides a medium for wide dissemination of original papers discussing various implications connected with geography from many points of view including international, political, environment, economic, social, medical, managerial, planning, scientific and engineering aspects.

With changing geographical realities, cartography as a subject has undergone several conceptual and practical modifications since its inception. The most important aspects of these changes in the character and patterns of cartography throughout the past century have undergone paradigm transformations in line with advancements in geographic knowledge, philosophical outlook, and scientific equipment and technique. Numerous theoretical issues in geography have recently surfaced and require prompt, appropriate solutions with a scientific perspective. Regarding this, the aim of using GIS as a value-adding component in geographical inquiry improved the ability of cartography as a tool to satisfy the needs of modern human growth. All of these details should be emphasized by the competitors in their writing. The writer is expected to give a comprehensive view of the theme with the significance of the issue being discussed. There needs Originality – uniqueness, novelty and authenticity of ideas. The writings should reflect fresh insights and a critical view of the subject.

2nd Workshop of Asian Young Geographers

The 2nd Workshop of Asian Young Geographers, is to be held on December 17-18, 2022 in an online format. As of November 10th, a total of 18 session proposals were received and have been included in the 2nd circular. Now the registration is open. Please register and submit your abstract / paper via the following website no later than December 4th: http://220.127.116.11:8088/AGAYGWG/. Excellent Paper Awards will be presented at the Closing Ceremony and the awarded papers will also be recommended to the journals including Asian Geographer.
